Nov. 22nd, 2003 03:59 pmWent over to new friends house who wanted help installing Windows XP on his (at least 5 years) old system. I said to him that I would be more than happy to help him, but unless money was a big factor, my advice was to buy a new computer. Do not open the XP box and get a refund from Sam's Club. He has a 13 inch monitor!!!
I went online at Dell and ordered him a bare bones system, $751.00 free delivery and free printer and free digital camera. Whew. I paid that for my flat screen. The only extra I ordered was the cable for the printer. (how can they sell without it?)
I think he will be happier. It amazes me what the new technology sells for now. He can get a refund on his XP upgrade.
Cleaned house this AM, typical Saturday.
We are lucky to have new friends here.
