Fredericksburg, VA
Apr. 6th, 2008 01:55 pmWe are now situated at the Fredericksburg, VA, KOA which is pretty much the only game in town for here. Due to their close proximity to Washington DC they are always busy. We made a reservation, but when we got here, the site they tried to put us in was way too small and no room at all to park the car. They found us another site in the trees and it is workable. Lots of mud, but that is probably a problem anywhere in this part of the country right now.
Oh, we found out the park we were in yesterday had a fenced dog area. Even though it was rainy and nasty we took the dogs down there and turned them loose. Boy did they love it and run like mad!! We finally had to stop them, we were afraid they would slip and hurt themselves. We also learned that two big dogs running amok in the muck makes for some dirty dogs. We hosed them off with the outside shower on the motorhome. I always wondered what use that really was, now I know. It is for hosing off dogs!! LOL.
Daughter expects us to arrive tomorrow. We will keep it that way. We are tired from driving in the rain.
The birds are doing ok, but Gabby has a couple of bald spots on his head. I am guessing it is because he is molting.
I am hoping this visit goes well. I plan on spending a lot of time with the dogs away from the action. That is not a bad thing, I could use the alone time.
The winnebago across from us has two beautiful boxers. Looks like about the same size as us, too. I am glad we are not the only small motorhome owners with big dogs.
