Well, we are in the middle of a war with the neighbors across the street I guess.

They have recently put up a fence and fenced in a back yard. They used to have two chow dogs, but got rid of them a while back. They kept them in a cage in the back of their house.

Since they put up the fence, they got a big hound looking dog, and a small black dog.

They kept them in their back yard until about 4 days ago. They put a dog house out at the very front of their yard and tied the big hound up and he has been there ever since. Now he is actually closer to our house than theirs, and is at the mercy of any stray dog that is roaming the neighborhood. It is also over 100 degrees in the afternoon sun.

MDH went over to tell them that that was not a good way to treat the dog, (thinking that being up front with them was best) and they just got pissed off, said the dog was digging up their yard, and they was just they way it had to be.

MDH told them he was going to call the Humane Society and they came out yesterday. They did talk to them, but nothing they can do unless they actually abuse the dog. (I consider the dog abused right now, but I guess they don't)

This morning they put a sign in their yard No Tresspassing this means you "R".

I guess our mistake was thinking we were dealing with adults.

The bad thing is that the dog is still tied up with no where to lay except the dirt, and no where to get out of the heat. They tie the little dog out too, but don't leave it out all the time.

Now what? The dog doesn't have a voice, so I don't regret that, but the issue is not resolved.

Oh, and the dog barks in the middle of the night outside our bedroom window.

Next time, I guess it will be the sheriff.
