Well, she made it through the night. Some more bleeding, but we were warned about that. She really has not recovered fully from the anesthesia. She peed in her bed, that is how out of it she was. She has never done anything like that. Anesthesia really does affect Greyhounds more than other breeds. The vet seemed to be fully aware of all that, so I hope she will recover today.
She did eat two dog cookies already this morning. We managed to get the antibiotics down with peanut butter. Her mouth is swollen pretty good.
First time she could get up she went on the back deck to check for squirrels. What a doofus.
They gavesoaked us for more money us one of those Elizabethan Collars for her. We have not put it on her yet, but will if she tries to scratch her face.
She does not have a drain in her wounds. (Two gaping wounds were stitched. One under her chin and her lip.) The vet said because we got her there in the first hour, it might not be necessary.
