I just made a card for a friends loss of their dog.

We rarely see them, but I still know they are devastated.

Our dog continues to be more confused, but seems healthy otherwise. He is not suffering and still has fun in his own way, usually at our expense.

He really is the crabbiest dog I have ever had.

Today

Today is cleaning the birdcage, the house, etc. Same old Saturday stuff.

Tomorrow I am going to my office buddy's (Karen) house to see her new calves and her place.

She is a year or two older than me, a widow, and about the size of my right leg.

She takes care of her cows and has 350 acres. Her house was blown away from a tornado spawned by hurricane Opal in 1995. When her husband was alive they had it replaced. He died about 2 years ago.

Anyway, we are going to pick up a piece of furniture and deliver it to Goodwill, and have lunch at a place about 20 miles from where we live. I am looking forward to it.

She is just one of those people that I really like, even though she is my polar opposite.

Birds

I have not posted about the birds much lately. They are still hanging out, happy, and talkative.

They enjoyed their road trip this past month.

They are talking (bird talk) away right now in their clean cage.

Well, the dirty floors are calling my name.

We can now live here again. The house is clean.

I was just looking around this house, and wondered why I/we have so much stuff!!! 4 bedrms, 2 people, 1 old crabby dog, 4 pretty old birds. How much room do we need?

We have 1/2 acres also with two sheds, one which is a shop.

Oh, and the motorhome.

I could live just in the motor home, but I have to admit, it gets just a little crowded, and that is mainly because of the birdcage.
I also like 2 bathrooms, but most campgrounds have bathrooms.

My friends, who are still full-timers, called me this morning from Colorado. They would love for us to come up there and spend some time with them. I would love to go, But......

it is expensive (I would spend every penny I have before I die, I don't care) and my job? I know we won't go, but I miss the time when we could just pull up the jacks and move on.
