Yesterday we got the last awning for the RV. We need awnings so we can open the windows in rainy weather. The windows slide open.
We are also testing how everything will travel, well mostly how the birds will do in their cage and new table for when we are parked.
Also still testing the air card, which seems to be what I need for internet access when I don't have wifi or have to pay for it.
Half the fun of the trip is the anticipation and planning.
I am filling out forms for mail forwarding service. We have used this service in the past when we were full time. Works great, except most of the time we don't know where we are going. We will have mail sent care of general delivery wherever we are going through.
Temporary address change from our house.

Jan. 10th, 2008 10:38 amWhew, bed made in RV and towels in.
We are moving stuff around for our long trip. It has been a lot of years since we did this. Laundry hamper is in shower. I always try to not do that, but it really is the only place to put laundry in this rig.
Just move the hamper out if we use the shower. Usually we use the campground showers, then we don't have to clean ours, and 6 gals of hot water doesn't go too far. It is plenty for a couple of showers, but you really have to conserve.
We got a new atlas today, too. In spite of all the options on the laptop, we can do it the old fashioned way, lol.
The last big trip we were on, 1994, we had one small black poodle and no birds, and a bigger (but no slides) motor home.
I hope we don't kill each other.

Today MDH put up our new shoe storage units.
I bought one of those shoe hanger/storage units and we cut it down to fit around the bed. The bed is on a box that lifts the mattress for storage under the bed. Nailed the shoe holders around the bed and cleared up more storage in the closet where the shoes used to be.
I have a portable desk that mdh built that sits on the dash for my laptop to sit in with a slide out drawer. On top of that is where the printer can sit. Can sit in passenger seat and use the laptop. Can also leave it set up.
We ARE the engineers in charge of wasted space now!!
I will take pictures some day of all this.

Jan. 10th, 2008 02:53 pmJust made reservations at a campground that we get 50% off of because we belong to a discount campground club in Dothan Alabama for next weekend.
We try to support the gal that lives there who puts on the Meet and Greet at Petsmart in Dothan. Not many dogs in that area, so support is hard to come by.
