Valentines Day-A childhood memory

When I was growing up, every Valentines Day, my dad would get my mother daffodils. Usually a nice big bouquet of them. I asked my mom once why daffodils? Why not roses or something else.
She told me that when they were first married, they were what they could afford, because they were in season. The tradition stayed with them until my father died. After he died, we bought her daffodils until she died.
I hope she liked them as much as I liked giving them to her. I can't look at daffodils without thinking of my parents.
