I have a new LJ friend,webdiva, and she is at a great place in her life. I can't wait to see how her move goes. I moved to San Diego about the same time in my life, almost 30 years ago when they first renovated the gaslight district. I know she has some great adventures ahead of her!!

Now I work and live in Florida, and still think about San Diego as a great time in my life. My grandparents were from there too, but the most fun I had was when I lived there. I also ran into my present husband there too. We had dated 14 years before and married other people before we met again in San Diego.

Well, I have today off, and nothing to do, so lucky me.

OK, here is what you get on a rainy day when you walk out to my sidewalk and turn right. Not as interesting as some. Pretty interesting little experiment though.

So many of LJers seem to have pets. It looks like cats are the most popular.

I have posted pics of my poodle Jacques, but not of the birds. I am so attached to each of them. They are so individual, and smart. Parrots are all intelligent, which most people don't know. I have had These since 1995-1996. I got 3 of them right from the egg.

Hubby built the cage. It is solid oak.

They are the reason I do not have cats.

The birds are cockatiels, all different color mutations. The gray girl in the front is the normal color for a cockatiel.

Yellow one is Freefall, a female, lutino is the color

lighter colored one is Rocky, a female, Cinnamon is the color

Gray is normal color, Lucky, a female

Pure white is a whiteface lutino, male, Gabby. (Lucky's boyfriend, he thinks)

Beds Made

Today is bed making day I guess. We are having company this weekend. The first company since we moved to this house almost one year ago. The daybed is made for their son who is bringing them, and I made up a queen sized sofa bed in my office for my friends. I hope they are comfortable in it. I found a hand made quilt I forgot about and put it on the sofa-bed. This sofa-bed I got at an upscale consignment store here. Lots of condos and they have to switch furniture around every couple of years if they are rented. Anyhooo this sofa is wild with jungle leaves and large Hyacinth (blue) macaws on it. Hope they don't have nightmares LOL. I have grown attached to it and I kind of have a bird theme going in this house.

Should be nice to have guests, but I forgot about the bridge tournament, oh well, maybe next time. These friends are coming to buy a car from our other friends. The other friends house is torn apart getting ready to tile the floors.

I am certainly wordy today. I am going back to work tomorrow, so you all are safe.

Home Picture Experiment

My new LJ friend Ruralbob started this little experiment. Go out your front door to the sidewalk, roads edge, whatever, turn right and take a picture to post. It is fun to see some of the neighborhoods we live in. Maybe we will do the left next time, LOL>
