I emailed my partner who does the payroll and maybe I will hear from her if something went wrong. I know there is a very good chance it could be lack of funds. I balance the check book, and I know how close to the bone we are playing it.

Maybe it is a sign that I have been there long enough? I am lucky to be in a position where this won't be a matter of life and death for me. Some people are not so lucky.
